Alfred H. Williamson

SHELBY- Mr. Alfred H. Williamson, 78, of 1108 Double Springs Church Rd., died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Hospice of Stanly Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late John Harmon and Lucy Falls Williamson. He was the owner of Williamson Accounting for more than 20 years and was also proud to be a local farmer. Mr. Williamson served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Alfred Harmon “Al” Williamson, Jr.; and a brother, Dan Williamson.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Poniese Wilson Williamson, of the home, a son, David Williamson of Albemarle; a daughter, Linda Lawrence and husband, Eric, of Albemarle; a sister, Freda Jackson, and husband, Earl, of Lake Hickory; two brothers, Donald Williamson of Asheville and John Williamson of Shelby; three grandchildren, Alfred Harmon “Trey” Williamson III and wife, Bobbie of Asheville and Charlie and Sarah Lawrence, both of Albemarle; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be Sunday, January 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Double Springs Baptist Church.

LIE-IN-STATE: The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Saturday, January 27, 2007 from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
