Carolyn Westmoreland

GROVER: Carolyn Lee Westmoreland, 82, died Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at her home. A native of Florence and Horry Counties of SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Uneda Godwin Lee. Carolyn graduated from Conway High School in 1958 and Winthrop College in 1962. She taught at Berryhill Elementary in Mecklenburg County and Grover Elementary in Cleveland County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dean Bertis Westmoreland; and sister, Barbara Lee Fant Moore. She is survived by sister, Elizabeth Lee Lowe of College Station, TX; aunts, Bernice McCutcheon of Lake City, SC and Harriet Sue Nelson of Myrtle Beach; nieces, Bonnie Nations of Hickory Tavern, SC and Lisa Lowe of College Station, TX; nephew, Robert Lowe of Austin, TX; godson, Hart Wells of Leesburg, VA; special caregiver, Gina Short; and special friend, Betsy Wells.
Funeral services will be held 3:00PM, Monday, January 24, 2022 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel in Kings Mountain, with the Rev. Carolyn Kramer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Grover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity or church of your choice.
