SHELBY: Claude Bryce Gamble, age 92, of Shelby, was called to his Heavenly home Friday, September 16, 2022. Born in Cleveland County on March 12, 1930, he was a son of the late Ulice William "Pete" Gamble and Mable Turner Gamble. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Gamble; a daughter Nancy Lynn Gamble Cooke; three brothers, William, David and his wife Shirley, Jody; and one sister, Jane Gamble.
Those left to cherish his memory include sons; Bryan Gamble and wife Stacey of Shelby, Billy Gamble and wife Katherine of Boiling Springs, Bobby Gamble of Grover; a daughter, Lisa Adams and Josh Bundy of Dallas, NC and his lovable dog "Barney". He was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Brandon and Justin Cooke, Garrett Gamble, Will and Drew Gamble, Tiffany Adams, Trey Adams and Anna, Marybeth Adams, and 3 great grandchildren.
Known as "Iron Man" during his trucking days, he was a simple yet stern man. He loved the Lord, and was blessed to be able to help so many throughout his life and always provided for his family. His legacy is a long life filled with hard work, sacrifice, wisdom and a unique love his family will always remember. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Buddy Morehead officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
