Cozette Heaton

February 2, 1940 — January 16, 2022

SHELBY: Cozette Jackson Heaton, 81, died Sunday, January 16, 2022 at her home. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Loyd and Myrtle Street Jackson. Cozette was a member of Westview Baptist Church and owned and operated The House of Sunshine Gift Shop during the 1980’s. Her family was most important to her and she enjoyed spending time at her second home in Blowing Rock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Jackson. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jim Heaton of the home; sons, Chris Heaton of Fort Worth, TX and Greg Heaton and wife Beth of Charlotte; sister, Jean Hicks of Monroe; and grandchildren, Ben and Reid Heaton. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Westview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Rick Bowling officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Westview Baptist Church.
