Diane Alexander

SHELBY: Diane Allen Alexander, 73, died Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Atrium Health Main. Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Georgia Philbeck Allen. She retired from Cleveland County Schools and had a love for traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Alexander; and brothers, Marvin and Dean Allen. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jerry Alexander; sons, Ritchie Alexander and wife Dawn of Mooresboro, Chad Alexander and wife Karen of Shelby and Toby Alexander and wife Canille of Mooresboro; sister, Carolyn Sheehan and husband Jim of Shelby; brothers, Lee Allen and wife Nadine of Shelby and Donald Allen and wife Linda of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Jessica Alexander, Amber Alexander and Logan Dickinson, Aaron Alexander and wife Taylor, Clayton Alexander, Sydney Alexander, Hayden Alexander and fiancée Maykayla Hamby, Blake Alexander, Camden Alexander and Emily Alexander; great grandchildren, Katie, Addy, Ryker and Nova; her best friend, Faye Newton of Shelby; sisters in law, Joan Allen and Joyce Allen; step brother, Larry Summers and wife Frankie of SC; brothers and sister in law, Ricky Alexander and wife Rhonda, Jane Mayhew, David Alexander and wife Loraine and Thomas Alexander. The family will receive friends 6-7:30pm, Monday, July 26, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ted Easter officiating. Burial will follow in Clingman Memorial Gardens, Blacksburg.
