Floyd "Skeeter" Wooten

GROVER—Mr. Floyd “Skeeter” Wooten, 51, of 2156 Brookfield Drive, the greatest chipper mechanic ever, passed out of this world and into paradise on April 10, 2013, at Kings Mountain Hospice House.
A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late Sammy and Trilbee Dailey Wooten.
He was most known for his willingness to help others in need. His spirit and quirkiness will always be remembered in our hearts. He loved his work and all the tree trimmers he met over the years. His business, Wooten’s Chipper Repair and Sales, will continue to operate with the assistance of his wife, and a close friend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Debbie Wall Wooten of the home; son, Phillip Wooten of Grover; daughter, Katie Wooten of Shelby; sister, Judy Jackson and husband Broadus of Shelby; four brothers, Det. Jeff Wooten of Gastonia, Sam Wooten and wife Linda of Fallston, Paul Wooten and wife Becky of Andrews, Bobby Wooten and wife Rhonda of Grover; nieces, Brandy Jackson, Jennifer Pervine, Holly Jackson, Kathy Jackson; several great-nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, RaDel Wall of Shelby.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at his home.
Funeral Service: 6 p.m. Friday at Putnam Memorial Baptist Church
