BURLINGTON- Mrs. Sue Turner Barkley, 92, of 1916 Bradbury Drive, formerly of Shelby, died Monday, June 19, 2006 at the Twin Lakes Center in Burlington.

FUNERAL: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

BURIAL: Cleveland Memorial Park

VISITATION: The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Don, 132 Jones Rd., Lattimore.

PERSONAL HISTORY: Born in Cleveland County to the late Edward Albert Turner and Bertha Mae Pruitt Turner Blanton, she was a homemaker and had been a member of Second Baptist Church of Shelby since 1947.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Charles P. Blanton; husband, Archie Miller Barkley; brother, Paul Edward Turner; sister, Edna Blanton Rogers; son-in-law, Robert E. Mitchell; sister-in-law, Lou Collins Blanton; brother-in-law, Clarence M. Morrison.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her son, Donald “Don” Edward Barkley, Sr. and his wife, Frankie of Lattimore; two daughters, Betty Barkley Mitchell and Sue Jane Barkley Dellinger and her husband, Jerry, all of Burlington; two sisters, Janie Turner Morrison and Arzie Blanton Rogers and her husband, Ernest, all of Shelby; two brothers, Jimmy Blanton and Bill Blanton and his wife, Shannon, all of Shelby; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great- great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Harvey Rogers of South Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.
