Michael Newton

SHELBY: Michael Joseph Newton, 41, died Sunday, October 31, 2021 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Vernon Newton and Rhonda Crawford Newton of Shelby. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church, formerly worked at the City of Shelby and currently worked for the Town of Boiling Springs. He enjoyed working in the yard and spending time outside. He loved sports and his dog Abby. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Melanie Payseur and husband Justin of Bessemer City; and nephews, Elijah and Caleb Payseur. Funeral services will be held 3:00PM, Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. John Ware officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
