Robert Billups

SHELBY- Mr. Robert E. “Bob” Billups, 59, of 2220 South Post Road, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at home. He was a native of Rock Island, Illinois, and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a carpenter with Sam Construction Co., and was of the Baptist faith.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Mother, Irene Ethel Meanor; grandparents, Ross and Vivian Engel.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Brenda Parker of the home; a son, Codey Billups, his daughter and caregiver, Genevieve Gladden and her husband Jeff of Shelby; a brother, Bailey Billups and his wife Brenda; two sisters, Vivian Finkinbinber and her husband Ed and Sandy Johnson and her husband John, all of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Zackery and Joshua Fordyce; Katelyn and Kayla Gladden, and Christopher Carroll; and special friends, David Carroll and Brenda Bradburn, both of Shelby.

MEMORIAL GATHERING: Saturday (5/26), 2-6pm at the home of Genevieve and Jeff Gladden, 1151 Mitchell St., Shelby.
