Robert Munoz

SHELBY: Dr. Robert “Rob” Munoz, 69, died Friday, May 26, 2023 at his home. Born in Seneca, OH, he was the son of the late Roberto and Marjorie Hollenbaugh Munoz. Rob graduated college from Ohio State University, and he always remained an avid Buckeye fan. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and retired as a Professor of Sociology at Gardner-Webb University. He loved his family and enjoyed visiting the beach, playing racquetball and collecting old money. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lynn Childerz Munoz; and his sister, Christie Butler. He is survived by his daughters, Melinda Munoz and husband Cullen Cox of Atlanta and Laura Winchester and husband Chuck of Cherryville; sisters, Gloria Bragg and husband David of Cleveland, OH and Marcy Allen and husband Ron of Atlanta; brother, Mark Munoz and wife Diane of Fostoria, OH; grandchildren, Gavin Rey Davis and Mikayla Fallon Davis. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Blanton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
