Vicky White

SHELBY: Vicky Ann Vickers White, 71, died Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Peak Resources of Cherryville. Born in Fort Gains, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Travis Vickers and Patricia Hicks Vickers. Vicky received her master’s degree from Troy State University. She was an educator who was most passionate in helping her students in all walks of life. She enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking for her family. She also previously served on the Cleveland County Library Board. She is survived by her loving husband and life partner of 56 years, Bruce White of the home; son, Robie White and wife Lisa of Shelby; daughter, Leigh Anderson and husband Hal of Lawndale; sisters, Kathy Price of LA and Karinne Simmons and husband Will of AL; grandchildren, Samantha White, Ross White, Travis McSwain, Jacklyn White, Paden White and Brandon Abernathy; 11 great-grandchildren; special friend, Rick Wierner of Shelby; several nieces and nephews, especially her niece, Kari Dawkins; and special friends of The Depot in Lattimore. The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 P.M. Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to North Shelby School or Cleveland County Library.
