Abby Hamrick

SHELBY: Abbigale “Abby” Hamrick, 74, died Friday, August 6, 2021 at Caromont Health in Gastonia. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late George and Grace Martin Holt. Abby was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, retired from First National Bank and later worked at Professional Pharmacy in Boiling Springs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Bumgardner; and granddaughter, Marissa Hamrick. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Michael Hamrick; sons, Greg Hamrick and wife Paula and Chris Hamrick, all of Shelby; sister, Susan Holt of Shelby; brother, Randy Holt of Lawndale; grandchildren, Chris Hopper and wife Hannah, Casey Hopper and wife Amanda, Cassie Hamrick and Zeke Crawford; and great grandchildren, Jaycee Jo Hopper, Wells Hopper and Samuel Hopper. The family will receive friends 6-7:30pm, Monday, August 9, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. The family request that attendees respect COVID and practice social distancing and face coverings. A private family graveside service will be held in Cleveland Memorial Park with the Rev. Andy Oliver officiating. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
