Al Babineau

August 6, 1939 — October 6, 2013

SHELBY-Mr. Alfred J. Babineau Sr., 74, of Lake Dr., passed peacefully, Oct. 6, 2013, in Polk County. A native of Hartford, Conn., he was the son of the late Alphee and Katherine Babineau. Al was a member of The Episcopal Church Of The Redeemer, where he worked in the soup kitchen. He also volunteered with the Red Cross and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret “Peggy” Dryburgh Babineau, of the home; son, Alfred J. Babineau Jr. and wife Karen; five daughters, Doreen Patsun and husband Bruce, Darlene Butler and husband Jon, Denise Babineau Wirth and husband Dean, Debra Lemek and husband Steve, and Diane Brunoli; step-children, James Burns and Robin Little; two brothers, Alphee Babineau and wife Tourey, and Alton Babineau and wife Mary; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.
