SHELBY- Mr. Albert E. Bowen, 81, of 1944 Burke Rd., died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Crawley Memorial Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Hoyle and Dehlia Blanton Bowen. He worked at Carnation for 20 years and retired from Universal. He was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: He was preceded in death by his parents.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Frances B. Bowen of the home; a daughter, Debra B. McBrayer and husband Brian K. of Shelby; a sister, Ruth Preston of Shelby; a brother, Clyde Bowen and husband, Pat, of Shelby; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Faircloth and Ronnie of Belmont and Cher Bridges of Spindale; four great grandchildren, Christy Faircloth and Journey Faircloth, both of Belmont, and Kayla Mote and Ashley Bridges, both of Spindale.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park
