Alda Anthony

SHELBY- Alda Neal Stroup Anthony, 97, died Sat., Dec. 31, 2016, at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Annie Kendrick Neal. She was a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin T. Stroup; and second husband, Edward Anthony.

SURVIVED: He is survived by her sons, Neal Stoup and wife Doris, and Howard Stroup and wife Penny, all of Grover; brother, James “Jim” Neal and wife Ruth of Shelby; seven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Monday, 6-7:30pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at her home.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 1pm, Tuesday, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church

OFFICIATING: Rev. Eddie Grigg will officiate

BURIAL: Will follow in the church cemetery
