SHELBY: Almedia Ann “Micki” Allison Hamrick, affectionately known as Micki, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, in Cleveland County at the age of 73. Born on December 30, 1951, in Cleveland County, she spent her entire life surrounded by the family and community she cherished deeply.

Micki was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Boyd Hamrick, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Her dedication to her family was unparalleled; as a homemaker and caregiver, she always placed the needs of her loved ones first, and her home was a warm gathering place filled with the aroma of her amazing cooking.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, having been a faithful member of Zoar Baptist Church for 70 years. Micki found joy in teaching Sunday school, sharing her wisdom and kindness with generations of young minds.

Known for her independence and strong will, Micki balanced her family life with a rewarding career as an Executive Assistant at Crest High School, where she worked for 32 years. Her commitment to excellence and her attention to detail left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Micki is preceded in death by her mother, Roselle Allison, her brother, Douglas Ivie, and her nephew, Jamie Ivie. She is survived by her loving husband, Boyd Hamrick, who was her rock and steadfast partner. She leaves behind her father, Hershel Allison; her two sons, Phillip Hamrick and Nathan Hamrick, who were the pride and joy of her life; her sister, Pamela Switzer, and husband Herbert; and her cherished grandchildren, Johnathon Hamrick and Allison Hamrick, who carry forward her legacy of love and strength.

Micki's unwavering love, nurturing spirit, and boundless devotion to her family and faith will be forever remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her. She touched many lives with her kindness and selflessness, leaving behind a legacy that will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.
