CHERRYVILLE- Mrs. Amelia Kiser Poston, age 69, died on October 24, 2009. Mrs. Poston was a lifelong resident of the Shelby area and was a homemaker for most of her adult life. Mrs. Poston was the daughter of the late Z J and Virginia S. Kiser of Shelby. She attended the UNC Woman’s College in Greensboro, NC for one year and initially worked for the Duke Power Company before spending a year in Germany while her husband was in the Army. She focused her life on her family and the raising of her two sons. Mrs. Poston was an active and devoted member of Buffalo Baptist Church for more than 25 years and dearly loved her life in the Moss Lake community.
SURVIVORS: She was a loving and devoted wife of McBride “Mack” Poston, of the home; two sons, Steven Eric Poston and Scott McBride Poston, both of Shelby; two sisters, Charlene K. Bridges and husband Donald of North Augusta, SC and Lavon K. McSwain and husband Ben of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and a special friend, Jodi Parker and her Children Jake and Luke Parker of Shelby.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Monday, October 26, 2009 from 6-7:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Scott ,1406 Wesson Road, Shelby.
FUNERAL: Services will be held, Tuesday, 11am, at Buffalo Baptist Church. Mrs. Poston will lie in state from 10:30-11 in the church.
INTERMENT: Burial will immedialty follow in Cleveland Memorial park
CLERGY: Rev. Max Turner will be officiating
