SHELBY- Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Ivie Blanton, 69, of 1806 Oakhurst Drive, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at home. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Rufus Nathaniel Ivie and Annie Strange Ivie. She was retired from Hurst Jaws of Life and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. She loved gardening and flowers.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Ralph Ivie, a sister, Betty Jane Billings, and a grandson, Joshua Lee Henderson.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles “Ed” Blanton, of the home; a son, Gregory Scott Blanton of Shelby; two daughters, Terri Henderson and husband, Bobby, and Kimberly Jane White and husband, Keith, all of Shelby; a sister, Kay Shaffer and husband, Harry, of Tampa; a brother, R.N. Ivie of Shelby; three grandchildren, Brandy Henderson and Michael Blanton and wife, Erica, all of Shelby and Angel Champion of Kings Mountain.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Landmark Baptist Church.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
