A.V. Davis

September 29, 1929 — August 15, 2006

SHELBY - Mr. A.V. Davis, devoted husband, father and grandfather, was
called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, surrounded by
his loving family at home, 2720 S. Post Road.
A.V. was born in Cleveland County, a son to the late Oliver Dean and Cora
Lee Ervin Davis. He was a faithful member and deacon of Davidson Memorial
Baptist Church and retired from Magnolia Finishing Plant after 27 years of
service.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers,
Ralph and Everette Davis; a sister, Ethel Freeman; a daughter-in-law,
Marsha Davis; and a grandson, Joshua Seth Boone.
A.V. is survived by his wife of 57 years, Reba Cash Davis; three sons,
Wayne Davis and wife, Vickie, of Mooresboro, Randy Davis of Shelby and
Ricky Davis and wife, Donna, of Blacksburg, S.C.; two daughters, Marla
Boone and husband, Steve, of Shelby and Renee Dyer and husband, Clifford,
of Shelby; three brothers, Dean Davis and Robert Davis, both of Shelby and
Norris Davis of Chesnee, S.C.; four sisters, Elise McAllister, Lillian
Smith and Cathy Walker, all of Shelby and Sara Knight of Gaffney, S.C.; 16
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A special friend, Illian Moss.
Visitation: The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at
Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Funeral: Thursday at 2 p.m. at Davidson Memorial Baptist Church; body will
be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial: Cleveland Memorial Park
