SHELBY- Mrs. Barbara Ann Spurling Phillips, 69, of 3030 S. Lafayette St., died Friday, July 13, 2007 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Ivey and Essie York Spurling. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and loved flowers.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie Spurling, and four sisters, Jame Duncan, Margaret Goins, Betty Spurling and Ruby Spurling.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Phillips, of the home; two step-daughters, Karen Frazier and husband, Jeff, of Henrietta and Connie Nelson of Grover; two grandchildren, Kalyn Webb of Henrietta and Scott Lowery and wife, Sylina of Fort Seal, OK; a sister, Pauline Walker of Shelby; a brother, Lloyd Spurling and wife, Ruth of Cherryville; and many special nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, July 15, 2007 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
