Barbie Allen

SHELBY- Miss Barbara “Barbie” Allen, 45, of 1125 Scottsdale Drive, died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Allen and Kaye Dixon Allen. She was a member of Dover Baptist Church.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Brent Allen and Randy Scott Davis; and her grandmother, Sue Allen Yates.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her daughter, Brandy Cook and her fiancé, Ricky Nuzum of Blacksburg, SC; a sister, Debra Messick and husband, Ricky, of Shelby; two grandchildren, Erin Elmore and Kaylyn Elmore, both of Blacksburg; her step-father, Floyd D. Davis of Shelby; and special friends, Dianne Albea and Amy Davenport, both of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her sister, Debra Messick, 107 Dundee Ct., Shelby.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
