Beatrice Sims

January 17, 1920 — January 30, 2010

KINGS MOUNTAIN- Mrs. Beatrice M. Sims, 90, of 128 Farris Rd., went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 30, 2010 at home. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Mae Davis Medley. She retired from the textile industry and attended Midview Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Everette Sims; Step Mother Ollie Short Medley; Daughter Marie Black; Grandson Larry Dean Black; three sisters, Luxola Ferruchie, Bessie West, and Fannie Short; and two brothers Lee and Robert Medley.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her daughter Edith Black and husband Louis of Kings Mountain; Son-in-law L.D. Black of Bessemer City; five grandchildren, Kay McDaniel and husband Ricky, Steve Black and wife Melanie; Cynthia Wilson; Ronald Black and wife Vickie; and Lorri Camp and husband Curtis; twenty great grandchildren; thirty five great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.


VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 2, 2010, 6-8pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain and other times at the home.

SERVICES: Services will be held, Wednesday, February 3, 2010, 2pm, in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery.

MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to Midview Baptist Church, 703 Margrace Road, Kings Mountain 28086.

CLERGY: The Revs. Bob Hope and Oscar Hullender
