Bernece Tessneer Glass

KINGS MOUNTAIN — Bernece Tessneer Glass, 83, passed away Aug. 12, 2015, at Carolinas Healthcare System.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Zadie and Mae Towery Tessneer. She was a 1950 Graduate of Tryon High School in Bessemer City. She retired from Gaston County Schools as Finance Coordinator.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Donald D. Glass; her second husband James M. Hayes; her paternal grandparents, William R. and Anna Short Tessneer; her maternal grandparents, W.J. and Nelia Panther Towery.
She is survived by her stepson, Dale Hayes and wife Angie of Shelby; two stepgranddaughters, stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Ivie of Shelby, Kim DeVine and husband David of Lawndale; stepgreat- grandchildren, Spencer, Emma, Peyton DeVine and Meah Ivie; and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mountain Rest Cemetery with the Revs. Edmund Lynn and Julie Roberts officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain is in charge of arrangements.
