Bernice Greene

SHELBY: Bernice Martin Greene, 84, died Saturday, October 5, 2024. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late William and Eloise Mintz Martin. Bernice was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and a former Sunday school teacher. She worked at Fiber Industries, Kemet Electronics, Wal-Mart as a greeter and Atrium Surgical Pavilion. She was a loving mother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed shopping and crafting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Denise Greene; and sister, Willene Snellings. She is survived by her loving daughters, Debbie Walker and husband Mark of Shelby and Sherrie Ledford and husband Doug of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Jonathan Walker and wife Mary, Justin Walker and wife Nicole, Carlie Pruitt and husband Tyler and Bradley Ledford; great-grandchildren, Lewis, Annabeth, Nehemiah, Jemima, and Henry Walker and Daniel Pruitt; her caregivers, Heidi Coggins and Jessica Miller; and her K-9 companion, Molly. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:30 P.M. Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in Cleveland Memorial Park with the Rev. Joey Hamrick officiating.
