SHELBY-Mrs. Betsy Joann Carrigan Rhom, 80, of Pleasant Dr., died Thurs., Oct. 3, 2013, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late John and Melita Webb Carrigan. She retired from Cleveland County Schools as a food services manager. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Boyce and Syd Carrigan; two sisters, Murriel C. Deal and Peggy C. Cranford; and great-grandson, Mason McCulloch
SURVIVED: She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Donald F. Rhom, of the home; son, John E. Rhom and wife Penny of Shelby; two daughters, Susan R. Guffey and husband Mitchell of Boiling Springs, and Heather R. Huskey of Lattimore; two sisters, Jana C. Baker and husband Hal of Marion, and Margaret C. D’Angelis of Florida; grandchildren, Heidi G. McCulloch, Joshua C. Guffey and wife Lizzie, Erich T. Rhom and wife Leslie, Syndi R. Hamrick, and Carrigan Huskey; great-grandchildren, Mollie and Maggie McCulloch, Georgia Guffey, Alex, Jacob, and Isaac Rhom, Johnathon and Allison Hamrick
SERVICES: Sunday, 3:30PM, at Crestview Baptist Church
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, 2-3:30PM, at the church, and other times at the home.
