SHELBY- Mrs. Betty McDaniel Bridges, 84, of 1692 Crestland Dr., died Wed., Oct. 12, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland Co., she was the daughter of the late Phifer Clement and Mary Edwards McDaniel. She was a former member of Eastside Baptist Church where she was active in the Girls Auxiliary and served on the flower committee. She retired from JP Stevens and Belk, and was a current member of Hoyle Memorial U.M.C.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, William Howard Bridges; son, Billy Bridges; and great grandson, Elizah Floyd.
SURVIVED: She is survived by her daughter, Sue Floyd and husband Gary of the home; two sisters, Faye Dixon and Doris Bridges, both of Shelby; two grandchildren, Jason Floyd and wife Lynne, Julie Crotts and husband Scott, all of Shelby; five grandchildren, Allen Crotts, Jada Hayes, Mason Crotts, Ethan Floyd, and Eva Floyd; and a specical friends, Judy Lail and Nathan Nejberger.
SERVICES: 4pm, Saturday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
VISITATION: 2:30-4pm, Saturday at the funeral home, and other times at the home.
