SHELBY: Betty Johnson Jordan, 73, died Sunday, September 12, 2021 at her home. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late David Johnson and Mary Allen Wellmon. Betty was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and worked as a beautician for more than 40 years. She enjoyed crocheting, where she made beautiful hats for the cancer center. She was also part of the prayer shawl ministry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tony Jordan. She is survived by her husband, Baxton Jordan, of the home; sons, Todd Jordan and husband Jeff Ames and Ty Jordan and wife Michelle,, both of Lawndale; daughter-in-law, Tammy Jordan of Shelby; sister, Mary Louise Kelley of Shelby; grandchildren, Brandon Jordan and wife Ashley, Jeremy Jordan and wife Jessica, Bronson Jordan and Bradley Jordan; great grandchildren, Cameron Jordan, Caydee Jordan, Lilly Pullen, Jasa Jordan and Jaxon Jordan; and many other extended family. The family will receive friends 12:30-2:00pm, Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm, in the church, with the Rev. Robert Rash and Dr. John Ware officiating. The burial will be private to the family. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County. The family will be practicing social distancing and face masks are recommended.
