Betty Jean Whisnant

December 25, 1931 — April 19, 2014

SHELBY-Betty Jean Kiser Whisnant, 82, went to be with her Lord, Sat., April 19, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Junie Collins Kiser. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she loved her Friendship Sunday school class. She was a loving mother who loved her family and church. After 30 years, she retired from Shelby Fish Camp.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest “Jr.” Whisnant; sister, Hazel Allen; brothers, Ralph Jr., Lloyd, and Bill Kiser.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her two sons, Ronnie C. Whisnant and wife Cynthia of Shelby, and Rusty Whisnant and wife Jane of Gaffney; sister, Shirley Kiser Strickland; and brother, Ben Kiser, both of Shelby; grandchildren, Justin Whisnant and wife Samantha, and Josh Whisnant, all of Gaffney; great-grandson, Tanner Whisnant; great-grandson on the way, Jaxon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Tuesday, 2PM, at Bethel Baptist Church

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday, 12:30-2PM, at the church

BURIAL: Sunset Cemetery
