SHELBY- Mrs. Betty Ann Leonell, 72, of 2925 Lake Drive, died Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Hillsborough County, FL, she was a daughter of the late Harry D. and Bernadine Hartley Hobbs. She was a member of Shelby Presbyterian Church and was an international salesperson.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: She was preceded in death by her parents.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John H. Leonell of the home; a son, John “Jeff” Leonell and wife, Jill, of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Angela Jean Leonell of Shelby; a sister, Sonja Jean Henson and husband, Joseph, of GA; a brother, James D. Hobbs and wife, Laura, of TX; three grandchildren, John Christopher Leonell of Cherryville; and Casey and Haley Johnson of Kings Mountain; a niece, Sheila Ann Dewberry and husband, Mark, and their son, Trent, all of GA.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends following the memorial service at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Shelby, and at other times at the home.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel in Shelby.
INURNMENT: Inurnment will follow in the columbarium of Shelby Presbyterian Church.
OFFICIATING CLERGY: Dr. Luke Harkey will officiate.
