Beverly Jane Watts

August 26, 1947 — March 22, 2010

SHELBY- Mrs. Beverly J. Watts, 62, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Watts was born in Shelby, daughter to the late James A. Jones, Sr. and Ruby Towery Jones Warlick. She was a loving daughter, mother, wife, sister, and friend to all who knew her. Beverly attended school in both Shelby and Daytona Beach, FL. She graduated from Gaston College in 1982 with an Associate Degree in Computer Science with honors. She was a member of the National Honor Society while at Gaston. She also graduated from Gardner Webb University in 1985 with a bachelor degree in Information Systems Management, with high honors. She was a member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society while at Gardner Webb. Beverly was very proud of her academic accomplishments. Beverly retired from Cleveland Regional Medical Center as a Project Analyst. She was of the Baptist faith.


PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by infant son, Ricky Joe Blanton, Step father, William C. “Preacher” Warlick, and her brother James “Art” Jones Jr.


SURVIVED: She is survived by her best friend and loving and loyal husband of 33 years Carl D. Watts; daughter Sherri Blanton of Shelby, step son Michael Watts and wife Elaine of Gaffney; step daughter, Kathy Stanley and husband Buddy of Shelby; sister, Cynthia Mullinax of Shelby; a stepbrother, Jamie C. Jones of Charlotte; stepmother, Elizabeth Jones of Shelby; sisters in law, Blondzine Torzillo; brother in law, Herman Hughes; two grandchildren, Brandy and Cody Blanton; a step grandson, David Watts, two step great grandchildren, Krislyn, Michael; and step great great granddaughter Mallori Watts; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Watts had a very special relationship with her niece Cindy “Toot” Carter and husband Adam.


VISITATION: The family will receive friends, Thursday, March 25, 2010, from 12-1pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

SERVICES: A graveside Service will be held, 1:30pm, at Sunset Cemetery, Thursday, March 25, 2010.

CLERGY: Rev. Max Turner will be officiating.
