Bill Robertson

SHELBY: On Thursday, December 1, 2022 William Franklin Robertson “Bill” passed away at the age of 66 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry Robertson and Florence Whitfield; and brother, Danny “Buck” Robertson.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cathy Harris Robertson; daughters, Amy Robertson and Kelly Robertson Rick; and grandchildren, Axton Rick and Adley Robertson.
Bill was born on August 27, 1956 in Spartanburg, S.C. He was a graduate of Crest High School, where he was an all-conference guard. He retired from Duke Energy after 38 years of service.
After high school, Bill joined the U.S. Marine Corps, and later married his high school sweetheart, Cathy in 1976. They went on to have two children.
He loved and guided his family with gentleness, calmness, and a healthy dose of laughter.
Bill’s grandchildren were the light of his life, where he loved traveling with them and watching them grow up.
He enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling, fishing, golfing and riding motorcycles with friends from C.C.I.B., Windjammers and Knights M.C.
David and Debbie Mitchell and Keith and Robin Wilson were close lifelong friends of Bill and Cathy. Friends who were truly close to Bill knew they didn’t have to be blood related for him to consider them family. Cindy Ruppe Blanton and family as well as Natashia Rogers and son.
The family will receive friends 2:00pm-3:00pm Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Campfield Memorial Baptist Church, 369 Campfield Ch. Rd. Ellenboro N.C. 28040
A memorial service will follow in the church at 3:00pm, officiated by the Rev. Mike Gettys.
Memorials may be made to Cleveland County Abuse Prevention council.
