PERSONAL HISTORY: Born in Gaston County to the late John L. and
Ethel Rose Goldsmith Cloninger. He retired from Fasco
Industries and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S.
Navy during the Korean conflict.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: wife of 47 years, Jeanette Willis Cloninger, four sisters
and a brother
SURVIVORS: Two sisters, Grace Broome of Gastonia and Frances Strand of Eauclaire, WI; two sisters-in-law, Marian Cloninger of Kings Mountain and Faye Willis Lail of Blacksburg, SC, five brothers, Ken Cloninger and wife, Doris, of Kings Mountain, Donald Cloninger and wife, Faye of Mooresville, Jerry Cloninger of Marion, Ohio, Sam Cloninger and wife, Marie, of Gaffney, SC and John Cloninger and wife, Fanchon, of San Antonio, Texas; Special friend, Tommy Doster of Golden Valley; a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Nancy Foster of Blacksburg, SC.
