SHELBY- Mrs. Bonita Fortenberry West, 86, of 806 Broad St., died Friday, October 26, 2007 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Jakie and Lincey Bowman Fortenberry. She was an employed with the Cleveland Mill for 40 years and retired from the Doran Mill. She was a charter member of Westview Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy West.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by two sons, Doug West and wife, Teresa of Stanley and Bill West and wife, Pat, of Johnson City, TN; a sister, Ruby Kale and husband, Mack of Shelby; two grandchildren, Wendy Ham and husband, Chris and Mark West, all of Stanley; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Casey Ham, both of Stanley.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 27, 2007 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Westview Baptist Church.
LIE-IN-STATE: The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
