Bonnie Hughes

August 17, 1934 — July 12, 2017

SHELBY- Bonnie F. Hughes, 82, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Pardee Healthcare in Hendersonville. A native of Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Nell Poor Franklin. She was a member of Westwood Heights Baptist Church, work as a CNA at CRMC for 10 years, and private duty for many years after. Bonnie enjoyed gardening and working in her yard.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hughes; brother, Jack Franklin; and sister, Kathleen Vance.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her sons, Scott Franklin and wife Bridget of Shelby, and Matthew Herman and wife Amanda of Boaz, Ala.; sister, Thelma Anderson of Raleigh; grandchildren, Dylan Franklin, Sara Herman and William Herman.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 11a.m., Saturday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

OFFICIATING: Rev. David Costner will officiate

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park

FUNERAL HOME: Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby is assisting the family
