SHELBY- Mr. Boyd Earl Edmondson, 92, formerly of 709 Second St., departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, July 30, 2007 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Hall County, Georgia, he was a son of the late Frank and Katie Keys Edmondson. He retired from the NC School System as a mechanic and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Edmondson was a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he faithfully served in many different capacities, including that of usher and deacon.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving and faithful soul mate of 70 years, Esther Greene Edmondson of Shelby; a number of loving nieces and nephews; and five sisters-in-law, Blanche A. Edmondson, Margaret L. Greene, Willie A. Greene and Betty Greene, all of Shelby, and Gwendolyn Grumbine of PA.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 12:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church Family Life Center.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church Family Life Center.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
