Brent Gipson

SHELBY: Brent Lee Gipson, 20, died Friday, September 22, 2023. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Brian Gipson and wife Maria and Jaime Gipson and fiancé Doug Dawson, both of Shelby. Brent graduated from Kings Mountain High School in 2021 and was employed with Cheyenne Intl. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and enjoyed skateboarding, listening to music, playing video games and basketball and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rebecca and Robert Brackett and Jerry Dale Gipson. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his girlfriend, Sarah McGowans of Mooresboro; sisters, Amber Ross and husband Keegan of Grover, Taylor Tomberlin and husband Chaz of Albermarle, Cristal Perez of Shelby and Madison Stiles of Dallas; brothers, Rafael Miranda-Perez of TX and Julian-Dale Gipson of Shelby; and grandmother, Patricia Meredith of GA. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Neal Efird officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the church. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
