Bubba Howell Jr.

LAWNDALE: Charles “Bubba” Howell Jr., our beloved Bubba, passed to his heavenly home, Saturday, September 18, 2021. A resident of Lawndale, born in Shelby on June 23, 1960. He is the son of Peggy D. Howell and the late Charles H. Howell Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by Grandparents Dewey and Edna Earl Howell and Max H. and Grace P. DeVine.

Remaining to cherish and honor his memory, his wife, Sherry B. Howell, children, Jessie N. Howell and Charles Andrew (Drew) Howell and his mother Peggy D. Howell, all of Shelby. Siblings, Debbie H. Owens of Surfside Beach, SC and David L. DeVine of Belmont, NC. Nephew Jonathon Owens of Surfside Beach, SC. Along with his faithful and steadfast canine companion, Tyson.

Uncle, Tommy L. Howell of Shelby. Aunts, Mable D. Shepherd, Dorothy D. Tesseneer (John), Vickie D. Jackson, Vallery D. McCoy (Tom), and Pam DeVine. A legion of cousins, friends, fishing buddies and his work family at Milliken and Company, Blacksburg, SC.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 22, from 5 to 6:30 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Shelby, NC. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 23 at 11 am at Bethel Baptist Church, 606 S. Dekalb St, Shelby, with burial to follow at Sunset Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or charity of choice.
