Buddy Barnette

KINGS MOUNTAIN- Buddy Vaughn Barnette, 81, passed away Sunday November 1, 2015 at Caromont Regional Healthcare in Gastonia. A native of Cleveland county, he was the son of the late Clifford and Emma Oates Barnette. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He was a retired brick mason and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.


PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Bell; one brother, J.D. Barnette; four sisters, Irene Robinette, Ailene Dellinger, Betty Lou Henson, and Elaine Martin.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife, Amelia Dellinger Barnette of the home; one son, David Barnette of the home; one sister, Shirley Gillespie of Shelby; one brother Charles Barnette of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Amy Gray, Andrew Bell, Heather Barnette, Joshua Bell; two great grandchildren, Ally Gray McAbee and Kelsey Gray

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held 3 pm Thursday at Eastside Baptist Church.

VISITATION: The family will greet friends after the service as attendees depart the church.

CLERGY: Rev. Ron Caulder, Rev. James “Hambone” Hamrick, and Rev. Steve Parker will officiate.

BURIAL: Burial will be at a later date at Mountain Rest Cemetery and announced by the family.
