Carl Ray Adams

SHELBY-Carl Ray Adams, 65, of N. Post Rd., died Sat., Oct. 25, 2014, at his brother’s home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Carl Quitmon and Irene Hamrick Adams. Carl was an Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam. He retired from First National Bank, where he was vice president of collections. He was a member of North Side Baptist Church, and had a love for golf, collecting baseball cards, and simply being the life of the party.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Gail Adams.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his daughter, Carmen Blanton and husband Robert Bridges; sister, Mary Hamrick and husband Jerry; brother, Clyde Adams; grandson, Lucas Blanton, all of Shelby; nieces, Sandra Brittain and husband Brad, of Lawndale, and Carla Canipe and husband Jeff of Cherryville.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Tuesday, 3p.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Monday, 6-7:30pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at the home of his brother, Clyde Adams.

BURIAL: Cleveland Memorial Park with military honor’s
