Carl Anderson

June 2, 1914 — July 23, 2010

SHELBY- Carl Anderson of 717 S. Washington Street, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Hospice at Wendover. He was the son of the late Quincy and Elizabeth Adams Anderson. Carl served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's, during peace time. He worked as a carpenter and helped build many of the older homes and office buildings in Cleveland County. Carl had little formal education but had a vast knowledge of life. He loved listening to Paul Harvey on his radio and the ‘rest of the story.’ He loved telling jokes, a good laugh and baseball. He enjoyed feeding his cats and birds and often said that he wondered if he was keeping the cats alive or if they were keeping him alive. He referred to his cats as “his hairy young un’s.”
As he would always tell those close to him, “Everything will be all right Sat’dy.” So on this Sat’dy.......Some of us are sure to think of Carl as he would probably say now “And there you go.”
