SHELBY- Mr. Carl Van Britt, 66, 404 Twelve Oaks Drive, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at his residence. A native of Carter County, TN, he was born August 21, 1947, son of Ida Dunn Britt and the late Monte Stewart Britt. He was employed at Daniel Construction and then later at Buffalo Plant on Cherryville Highway.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife Rachel Beaver Britt of the home; one son Allen Britt of Alabama; Katherine Fish of Rutherfordton; six sisters, Betty Fox, Linda Johnson, Virginia Penney all of Michigan, Alice Brandon of Mississippi, Jean Hall of Alabama, Barbara Hyder of Tennessee; one brother, Tommy Britt of Alabama; eight grandchildren including his special granddaughter who was his primary caregiver, Amanda Edwards and her boyfriend Jason; three great grandchildren.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends anytime at his home.
