Catherine Blanton

SHELBY- Mrs. Catherine Ledwell Blanton, 91, of 401 N. Morgan St., died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at White Oak Manor of Shelby. She was a daughter of the late John Henry Ledwell and Georgia Ann Long. She was a beautician and was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the Irene Padgett Sunday School Class.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colin Blanton, two sons, Leonard Blanton and Blaine Blanton, and three brothers, George, Barney, and Henry Ledwell.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by a niece, Brenda Ledwell Nichols of Gastonia; a special nephew and his wife, Bill and Cissy Ledwell of Bessemer City; and special friends, Jeannie and Herman Dawson of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends an hour before the service on Saturday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Chapel.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
