KINGS MOUNTAIN: Chad Douglas Lyles, 36, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Atrium Health Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Chad Lyles of Gastonia and the late Lisa Watson Freeman. Chad had a passion for drag racing, playing video games and riding four wheelers and his motorcycle. He was employed with STI in Kings Mountain. In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife, Brooklyn Short Lyles; daughter, Lakelynn Lisa Lyles; brother, Daniel Marlow and wife Britnie; foster mother, Alice Dittman; grandmother, Sherry Parton; best friends, Matthew “Radio” Burris and Ryan Fox; and many extended family members. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel in Kings Mountain, with the Rev. Daniel Collins officiating. The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
