Charles Green

SHELBY-Charles Ray Green, 73, died Tues., Jan. 5, 2016, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James Charles and Bertie Patterson Green. Charles served in the Airforce, retired from the NC Department of Corrections, loved hunting, fishing, and his red 1999 Chevy pickup.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deanie Goodson

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Trudy Smith Green; son, Joey Green, both of the home; daughter, Teresa Vassey and husband Neal; sister, Hilda McCarthy; brother, Mike Green; grandchildren, Hunter, Noah, and Callie Vassey, all of Shelby; and special friends, Brandon Saunder and Johnny Black

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 11a.m., Saturday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, 6-7:30 p.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

BURIAL: will follow in Sunset Cemetery

CLERGY: Dr. J. Eric Davis will officiate
