SHELBY: Mr. Charles Marshall Martin, 61, of 718 Bethlehem Church Road, Kings Mountain, died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
FUNERAL: Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
BURIAL: Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain
VISITATION: Saturday, April 1 (tonight) 6-7:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
PERSONAL HISTORY: Born in Gaston County, he was the son of the late O.D.
Martin and Linnie Mae Smith Martin of Kings Mountain. He was a retired truck driver for Cochrane Funiture of Lincolnton. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member and former Captain of the Kings Mountain Rescue Squad. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball and playing softball.
SURVIVORS: Mother, Linnie Mae Smith Martin of Kings Mtn.; three sons, Charlie Martin and wife Shannon of Kings Mtn., Marshall “Todd” Martin and wife Linda of the home; and Caleb Martin of Fallston; a daughter, Marsha Rodriguez and husband R.T. of Kings Mtn.; four brothers and seven sisters; eight grandchildren, Chad, Megan, and Elizabeth Martin, “J.T.”, Dalton, Brooke, and Jourdan Martin, and John Michael Shields.; and a “special son”, Jason Benfield.
OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Lloyd Swafford
