Charles Swafford

SHELBY- Charles “Pete” Swafford, 76, died Thursday, July 19, 2018 at White Oak Manor-Shelby. A native of Cleveland Co., he was born to the late Joseph and Essie Mae Swafford. He was a wonderful brother and a great man who would give you the shirt off his back. He also loved to fish.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Ray Swafford.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife, Mary Swafford, of the home; sons, Robert and Scott Swafford of Gastonia; daughter Barbara McIntyre and husband Steve of Boiling Springs; sisters, Eva McCombs of Shelby, Mary Ann Woolley of Winter Park, Fl. And Liz Swafford of Shelby; brothers, Loyd Swafford and wife Gail of Mooresboro, Boyd Swafford and wife Martha, James Swafford and wife Doris, and David Swafford, all of Shelby; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held1:00 PM Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

OFFICIATING: Dr. Bo Wagner and Rev. Loyd Swafford

BURIAL: will follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park

FUNERAL HOME: Arrangements are entrusted to Clay-Barnette Funeral, Cremation & Pet Aquamation Center
