Charles "Reuben" Mcbrayer

SHELBY- Mr. Charles “Reuben” McBrayer, Jr., 62, formerly of Shelby, died Friday, July 3, 2009 at his home in Hixson, Tenn. Reuben, a beloved member of the Shelby community for most of his adult life, was born in Greenville, NC, on May 20, 1947, to his late parents, Charles and Virginia McBrayer. Reuben retired from Shelby City Schools and Harris Teeter. While in Shelby, Reuben was a member of the First Baptist Church. He moved to Hixson, TN in 2001 to live with his brother, Charles McBrayer.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Betty D. McBrayer and son, Anthony R. McBrayer, his brothers Charles McBrayer of Hixson and Larry McBrayer of Huntsville, AL, and his sister Lee McBrayer Frazier of Huntsville, AL.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Sunset Cemetery.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery
