Cheryl Mcswain

SHELBY- Cheryl Rogers McSwain, 73, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late George Clyde and Carrie Bridges Rogers. Cheryl retired as an elementary teacher from Cleveland County Schools, and was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Her love and care for others allowed her to touch people from all over the world.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jerry McSwain; sons, Mike McSwain and wife Carol, and Jeremy McSwain and wife Deana, all of Shelby; daughters, Lori Stamey and husband Brad of Winston Salem, and Sherri Harris and husband Greg of Shelby; sisters, Jane Reynolds and husband Dale, and Judy Mull and husband Bill, all of Shelby; brothers, Ronnie Rogers and wife Connie of Flat Rock, and George Rogers and wife Wanda of Shelby; grandchildren, Ann McSwain and wife Heather of Greensboro, Michael McSwain and wife Morgann of Washington D.C, Keith Wellmon of Wilmington, Matthew McSwain and wife Jessica of Shelby, Drew Stamey of Gainesville, GA, Mark Stamey of Winston Salem, Kellan McSwain of Shelby, Ben Stamey of Winston Salem, and Ella McSwain of Shelby; great-grandchildren, Marley, Makinlee, Dylan, Graham, Hayes, and Caroline; and a special aunt she cared for, Ruth Mabry of Gaffney.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Friday, April 27, 2018, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 10am, Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church

OFFICIATING: Dr. J. Eric Davis, Dr. Brad Stamey, and Rev. Andy Oliver

BURIAL: Will follow in the church cemetery
