Chuck Gibson

SHELBY: Charles “Chuck” Gibson III, 51, died Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Atrium Health Cleveland. Born in Gaston County, he is the son of Charles “Al” Gibson Jr. and the late Barbara Bradshaw Gibson. Chuck had always dreamed of serving in the military as a child. He served seven years in the Army, where he got to experience so many different elements of life. He had a great love for adventure. Chuck worked in the petroleum industry for many years and had a wide variety of interests, some including, camping, fishing, motorcycles, RC car racing, paintballing, and being a Boy Scout leader with his son. He was a collector of many different things and he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Johnnie Bradshaw. In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Ewelina Gibson of the home; son, Daniel Gibson of Shelby; brother, Ben Gibson of Gastonia; grandmother, Mary Bradshaw of Stanley; nieces, Hannah and Jessie Gibson; and nephew, Michael Gibson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Goodson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow next week in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
