LAWNDALE-Chuck P. Lutz, 56, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Sharlene Garver Lutz of Belwood, and the late Charles Lutz. Chuck was a faithful member of New Beginnings Church, and was self-employed. Being an avid BBQ man, he was known as “Shhmoking”, and the creator of his secret recipe, “Chuck’s Homemade Famous Sauce”.
PRECEDED: In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Todd Lutz; and niece, Ashley Lutz.
SURVIVED: In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Vicki Rice Lutz, of the home; his beloved daughter, Jessica Lutz of the home; brothers, Chris Lutz and wife Lisa of Casar, Curt Lutz and wife Amy of Lawndale, and Craig Lutz and wife Lori of Kings Mountain; father and mother-in-law, Rev. Landon and O’Lema Rice of Connelly Springs; sister-in-law, Marlene Rice Hoyle of Polkville; nieces and nephews, Emily Hudson and husband Josh of Shelby, Corey Lutz of Casar, Chelsea Crunkleton and husband Andreu, and their son Reed of Shelby, Josh Lutz of Lawndale, Lauren Faircloth of Myrtle Beach, Christian Lutz of Chapel Hill, Camden Lutz of Kings Mountain, Hannah Hoyle Boone and husband Nathan, and their daughter, Brystol of Shelby, and Landon Hoyle of Shelby; many special friends; and his canine companions, Karmel and Smokie.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 7pm, Sunday, June 24, 2018, at New Beginnings Church. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, at the church

BURIAL: Burial will be held 10am, Monday, at Rose Hill Memorial Park
